Final HMS PTO Meeting

Join us for coffee and pastries as we finish off the 2022/2023 school year with our final PTO meeting. We will honor Gail Vescovi for 30 years of service at D181 and will be retiring at the end of the school year. Raising Canes Dine Out Night-Wednesday, 5/17

This Wednesday Raising Canes will donate 15% of all sales back to HMS from 4:30-8pm at their Westmont location- 60 W 63rd Street. Please mention the fundraiser at the register inside or at the drive through. See FLYER for details. Thank you for your support!

Graduation Robes Have Been Distributed

HMS 8th graders received their graduation robes this week (week of May 8th) from their advisory teachers. All graduates wear a robe during the HMS graduation ceremony. Caps are not worn.

If you have any questions about 8th grade graduation robes, please contact Mrs. Vescovi at gvescovi@d181.org. Also, please be sure to let Mrs. Vescovi know if your 8th grade child will not be participating in graduation on June 2nd at 5:30pm.

8th Grade Block Party Celebration, Volunteers Needed!

We have an epic celebration planned this year for our 8th graders beginning with an outdoor picnic lunch on the grass near the bus circle, followed by a block party on the HMS field.

The celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 31st. Students will attend class periods 1-4, followed by the picnic lunch from 12:30-1pm and the block party from 1-3pm.

Picnic: Students will have their choice of a Jimmy John’s sub sandwiches, chips, bottled water, and Andy’s frozen vanilla custard. Ingredients have been sent to parents in a separate email. Make sure your child has placed his/her order on a google form. The deadline is May 19th. All lunch volunteer slots (12:15-1:15pm) have been filled, THANK YOU!

Block Party: We have TONS of fun activities including a 75′ inflatable obstacle course competition, a basketball bungee run, water balloon dunk tank, cash cube prize attraction, caricaturists, a photo booth, lawn games, snacks, scavenger hunt for great prizes-including Hinsdale Central swag (alternatives for those attending other high schools)! We’re still looking for volunteers to help with the block party (12:30-3pm). Block party volunteer sign ups can be found here SUG.

Alixandra Blue and Collections Shop and Share day-May 22nd!

Alixandra Blue is hosting a fun shop day for HMS students, staff and families at their Hinsdale location on Monday, May 22nd. They will have a photo backdrop with balloons, refreshments and a candy bar, and amazing raffle prizes! $150 gift card, Candier sprinkles/fruit loop candle, and a necklace of choice. Mention HMS at checkout and 15% of sales go back to the school! The shop and share is all day at both Alixandra Blue and Alixandra Collections, however the fun starts at 3:15-6pm at Alixandra Blue! Scoreboard Charities Presents – Meet Me In Manhattan

Scoreboard Charities is an organization based out of Clarendon Hills that is dedicated to ending cancer. Each year they fund camping opportunities for children fighting the disease. They are hosting a fundraising event in our community on Thursday June 15th, 2023 at Ruth Lake Country Club from 7 to 10pm. Please see FLYER for more details on how to support this worthy cause and to purchase tickets.

The head of this organization does all D181 and D86 PTO taxes for no fee. The Exec Board has agreed to post details on their fundraising event coming up in June.
